They Used to Race Chariots Here

This is an environment piece I did for A.J. Trahan's concept painting class last term. I'm really happy with how this one turned out. I had a lot of fun painting it and just exploring the subject matter in different directions. Throughout painting I referred to a mood board of Eugène Galien-Laloue watercolors which provided me with my primary inspiration and direction for the image. Those old masters and their watercolors!!
